Bio
I am an Associate Professor of Politics at the University of South Florida. At USF, I teach courses on Social Movements, Europe, Politics of Development, Global Political Economy, and Marxism. My research focuses on social movement & contentious politics, capitalism & class, media & technology and has been published in various peer reviewed journals such as Globalizations, New Media & Society, Rethinking Marxism, New Political Science, Social Movement Studies, or Transforming Anthropology. I have also been the co-editor of “The Great Refusal: Herbert Marcuse and Contemporary Social Movements” (Temple University Press, 2017) and “The New Global Politics: Global Social Movements in the 21st Century” (Routledge, 2017) and my research has been funded by the University of South Florida, the Miami-Florida European Union Center of Excellence at Florida International University, the Social Science Research Council, the International Studies Association, and the University of Pennsylvania.
I am the faculty advisor for USF’s Young Democratic Socialists of America chapter.
