Undergraduate

Overview

Our bachelor's degree programs in Sociology and Interdisciplinary Social Sciences are designed to provide our students with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in our increasingly diverse world. Both degree programs provide avenues for students to develop intellectual and practical skills in: communication, leadership, critical and analytical thinking, problem solving, methodological reasoning, statistical analysis, and multicultural and global understanding. These skill sets align exceedingly well with the skills that 21st century employers value and seek.

Our degree programs also provide a rigorous academic context in which students can develop and exercise personal and social responsibility and apply their knowledge and skills through a variety of "high impact practices," such as internships, community-engaged learning, education abroad, undergraduate research experiences, and collaborative learning. Engaging in these "high impact practices" can help you get your foot in the door of the employer or graduate program of your dreams.

If you are new to USF, please set up an appointment with one of our academic advisors and introduce yourself to our faculty. We are eager to welcome you and to learn more about you.
