Prerequisites for Health Professions

Prerequisites for Health Profession programs vary based on the individual program, however, most common program prerequisite minimums are listed below. Remember, meeting the minimum requirements may not be sufficient to build a competitive application and schools require more than the completion of prerequisites to be competitive. Additionally, some schools do not accept online coursework or AP, IB, CLEP, AICE or CAPE credits for prerequisite courses. Students should meet with their major advisor (to ensure they meet graduation requirements) and a health professions advisor (to ensure that they meet the prerequisites of the health profession schools to which they plan to apply and are building a competitive profile).

Important: There are no standardized prerequisites for any health profession program. The courses indicated above and below represent the most common prerequisite requirements. All information is subject to change and students are responsible for verifying all prerequisites for their programs of interest.
