Opportunities Overview

UNDERGRADUATE HUMANITIES CONFERENCE

Open to all USF undergraduate students, this conference is a platform to present midterm or final research projects. Students can present a paper for panel discussion, a creative project, or participate in the poster session. The Undergraduate Humanities Conference is great experience for graduate school and to prepare for other research conferences.

This conference provides an incredible professional opportunity for undergraduate humanities students to showcase their research in an environment that encourages advancing your researching skills without intimidating new researchers. I'd recommend both participating and attending this conference, as a student who has greatly enjoyed doing both!

STUDENT TRAVEL

One way the Humanities Institute supports student research at USF is through travel stipends available to both graduate and undergraduate students who have been accepted to present their original research at a national or international conference. internships

An important form of experiential learning, internships allow students to gain professional experience in a work setting prior to graduation. When students participate in internships at the Humanities Institute, they learn budgeting, event planning, marketing, social media management, and other skills related to working in non-profits and higher education administration. For those majoring in the humanities, it also provides an opportunity to put their degree to work and gain valuable experience in their field before entering the workforce.

The USF Humanities Institute is a listed sponsor for Fall and Spring for-credit internships through various CAS departments such as Humanities & Cultural Studies, History, and English. Students interested in learning more about an internship opportunity with HI can contact Jade von Werder.
