Position

Director of Choral Studies, Instructor I, permanent, full-time, 9-month non-tenure-earning position #16116 which contributes to the teaching and service missions of the University of South Florida. Anticipated start date is August 7, 2018.

Salary

Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimum Qualifications

DMA/Ph.D. in an related field. ABD with significant post-secondary experience in choral conducting considered, however, terminal degree must be completed before appointment. Experience with a choral program at the post-secondary level.

Duties

Duties will include: Conducting existing choral groups and expanding opportunities to attract a more diverse range of students, teach undergraduate and graduate choral conducting courses, teach choral methods and choral techniques for the music education program, recruit and supervise choral conducting graduate assistants, organize and develop choral/vocal camps/festivals of interest to secondary school students and teachers, serve as liaison with choral groups affiliated with the School of Music, establish and maintain professional relationships with music educators in the Tampa Bay area, recruit to the choral/vocal program, expand influence of the choral/voice activities on the USF campus and in the community

School

The School of Music, a full member of NASM, is a prominent constituent in the College of The Arts. Current initiatives of the School include an expansion of national and international reputation, research/creative productivity, and of graduate studies.
