Design by Making Summer Program
Summer 2020 dates 6/15-6/26
The USF School of Architecture & Community Design's Design by Making Summer Program for high school students enables students entering grades 9 to 12 in the upcoming school year to explore architecture from a designer's viewpoint. The 10-day program introduces participants to different design methods within a studio environment.
Working closely with faculty and community architects, participants experience different design challenges utilizing freehand media, model making, and digital design. In addition to daily studio workshops, the program includes several field trips to significant buildings and professional studios across Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Lakeland. The program is lead by Professor Josué Robles Caraballo and Professor Nancy Sanders.
This program is not for college credit, but work produced in this program can be utilized by students in their university application process.
