Professor McArthur Freeman Selected to Receive Inaugural USF Humanities Faculty Fellowship
McArthur Freeman, USF associate professor of animation and digital modeling at the School of Art & Art History, has been selected as one of a cohort of three faculty fellows to receive the inaugural USF Humanities Faculty Fellowship.

Harbor Hall Renovations Bring Upgraded Facilities and Updated Technology to the Graphic Arts Program
The Graphic Arts Program received a generous $1,000,000 gift from Josephine Hall that has allowed them to provide major renovations to Harbor Hall at the USF St. Petersburg Campus.

New Exhibition: Professor Ezra Johnson at the Mindy Solomon Gallery
The gallery is pleased to present the 3rd solo exhibition of painter Ezra Johnson, “Paintings from a Room.” Drawing from a long tradition of still life painting, Johnson elevates the mundane to a subject worthy of contemplation. Utilizing his well-honed painting skills and his sharp eye for identifying beauty, Johnson assembles a body of work that gives voice to a year in repose.

Professor Esra Akin-Kivanç Presents Current Book at Conferences
Dr. Akın-Kıvanç will present the material from her book as well as other academic research at the Association for Art History, United Kingdom (April 17, 2021). Her paper, “Mirror Calligraphy: A Path of Return to the Source,” discusses a chapter from her recent book on mirror calligraphy.

Congratulations to USF MFA student Krystle Lemonias who received a First Place Award from the Suncoast Black Arts Collaborative, in cooperation with the Art Center Sarasota. The exhibition competition and event attracted applications from throughout the state of Florida.

Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art presents New Work by Professor Sue Havens
The Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art is proud to present Sue Havens: Cull, an exhibition of new works by Florida-based artist Sue Havens, from April 19 to July 24, 2021. Cull is a mid-career survey and the first solo museum exhibition focused on Havens’ prolific production in two and three-dimensional works since 2016.
