Career Coaching

Wherever you are in your career path, you might benefit from coaching. Some people engage with a coach without knowing where to start or what to ask. Others have a strong sense of their goals and need a thought partner. Some clients are well on their way, and maybe want a one-time mock interview.

Career coaching is not personal counseling. Although it may be difficult to separate life issues from career issues, typically career coaching is focused on topics related to career development and job transition. In-person (BSN 103 on Tampa campus) and online meetings are available.

Workshops

By working in small groups, we get to learn together and hear/see different perspectives. Not to mention, it’s a great way to network. Register for in-person and online workshops.

Topics

In 1:1 coaching appointments and workshops, we cover a variety of topics. Also, look in 12twenty’s Resource Library for information on:

  • Résumé-writing
  • Personal branding
  • LinkedIn
  • Networking
  • Interviewing
  • Job search
  • Mentorship
  • Aligning strengths with industries/roles
  • Professional advancement

Graduate Career Events

We continue to build niche events for the Muma College of Business MBA/MS community.

In Spring and Fall semesters, we host Grad Connect Week. This series includes Featured Speakers, workshops, sporting events, and Corporate Connections (small general career fair).

Other career events are dedicated to certain degree programs or fields of interest, such as Marketing, Human Resources, and Finance. Meet alumni from your degree program. Find a mentor. Learn what hiring managers are looking for in the hiring process at a pro panel discussion. Hear from industry leaders how your education is preparing you for the world of work. Show your best self at specialty career fairs.

12twenty

In early 2024, we launched 12twenty, a career services platform designed for graduate business students. This is your go-to for scheduling coaching appointments, registering for workshops and events, and accessing tools in the Resources Library. You can research employers and their job postings. 12twenty has a robust reporting function to gather outcomes (i.e., your job and salary, especially post-grad). When you graduate, access does not go away. Alumni have access.

Students, access 12twenty here: business-usf.12twenty.com

Graduate Alumni

You graduated, but you’re still part of Muma!

On 12twenty, you may request 1:1 career coaching and attend certain events. Alumni can search jobs too.

Want to support current students in their careers? Maybe be a mentor? Facilitate a workshop? Host an event? Hire a Bull? We have built activities around alumni’s suggestions.

Let’s talk!

Alumni (since 2012), access your 12twenty profile here: business-usf.12twenty.com.

Employers

We invite you and your talent acquisition staff to come on campus—become a familiar name and face. Typically, we host small, niche career fairs and events to give everyone a chance to get acquainted.

If you are looking for graduate business talent right now, you are invited to post your job openings on 12twenty.

If yours is a long-term approach to recruiting, let’s look for opportunities to build that talent pipeline. Workshops, tabling, event sponsorship.
