Virtual Career Fair Details
We are using Handshake as our virtual career fair platform for Fall 2020. We'll be providing updates leading up to the fair to help you make the most of your fair registration and spend your time talking with students who are interested in your organization and the positions you have posted.
As you plan for the Part-Time Job Fair, please keep the following best practices in mind:
To help drive students to your virtual booth, you must have an active Handshake job posting and preferred qualifications linked to your fair registration.
It's important to ensure that this information is accurate and up-to-date. We will be using it to help our students make decisions about which employers they want to meet with.
If something changes with your job posting, please let our team know as soon as possible so that we can help you make any necessary changes to your registration. Get in touch with our Student Employment team for help.
To increase your student engagement, you must host at least one group meeting per fair to interact with up to 50 students at a time.
Handshake allows for two engagement options during the virtual fairs: one-on-one sessions (10 minutes in length), and group sessions for up to 50 students (30 minutes in length).
In an effort to help all of our employers maximize your engagement with our students, we're requiring that you host at least one group session at some time during the fair.
For a three hour fair with one employer representative, an organization would be able to meet with up to 50 students during the group session, and then have an additional 14 one-on-one sessions. (Assuming the representative leaves time for a 10 minute break.)
To host productive and beneficial face-to-face discussions with students, you are encouraged to schedule multiple representatives from your organization to host virtual one-on-one student meetings.
Each additional representative would allow for an additional 18 one-on-one sessions during the fair.
Regardless of the number of representatives that your organization has, only one group session is required.
We will not be assessing any fees for additional representatives.
We encourage you to review the information below to assist you as you plan to engage with our students in a virtual environment. We will continue to update this section with relevant resources as the fairs approach. You can also visit the Handshake Help Center at any time for tutorials and the ability to contact their support team.
