Referrals, References, & Legal Issues

Employers often ask faculty for the names of their top students. Of course, you want to help your students find employment. However, what may seem harmless may actually have legal consequences that place you in violation of equal opportunity laws or in the role of an “employment agency," if you regularly provide student names to employers. Salary & Labor Market Trends

Having knowledge of the current salary averages, labor market trends and the skill sets employers want in their future hires is critical information you need to have to help your students be better prepared to market their academic knowledge and skills. Use this data to help your students be more successful in navigating and negotiating the 21st century labor market.
