Handshake Headquarters

For Students

The transition to Handshake represents a significant milestone in the continuing evolution of our office and the way in which we deliver services to our alumni, employers, faculty and staff, and you, the students of the University of South Florida's Tampa campus.

Over the past few months, we've been asking you about our current system, Employ-A-Bull and the software that makes it work. Many more of you have shared your frustrations and challenges with the system at our Bull Market table, career fairs, our special events, and when you've stopped by our offices.  We listened and, over the past few months as we've looked at possible new systems, kept your feedback in mind.

Handshake, the new system that will be powering Employ-A-Bull, is a completely new design.  It's a combination of some of the best tools on the web today, taken from services like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.  It's designed to help us precisely target career information, internship, Co-op, and employment opportunities, and career related events to your specific major, degree type, and interests.  Generic, one-size fits all e-mails and the dull, boring webpages of the old Employ-A-Bull will become a thing of the past once the system is fully online.

We're excited to be bringing this new system to USF and we are confident you will like what you see and experience as the system comes online for the Fall 2016 semester.  We've all got a lot to do to make this transition a success, but we believe that an Employ-A-Bull, powered by Handshake, will be the best career management tool for the students of USF.

You can find more information on Handshake here, and a list of some of the other top-tier schools who also use the system ... yes, USF is joining the ranks of some pretty exclusive company!

For those of you who have an active Employ-A-Bull account, it is important that you stay on top of the dates and tasks we'll be posting on the Student Action Steps page.  You must download any resumes, cover letters, and documents from the old Employ-A-Bull no later than June 30, 2016.  After this date, we will not be able to access that data or recover it for you.

As we implement Handshake, we encourage you to check this area of our website for the latest information and updates on our rollout. And as we get more of the system up and running, we will be hosting meet-ups where you can try out the new system, get help logging in for the first-time, and get your questions answered.  Dates, times, and locations will be posted below.

Archive copies of all of our e-mail communications to students will also be placed on this page, for an easy to access reference.

As always, we welcome your questions and feedback and you can find the list of our transition team members, and their contact information, here.
