Scheduling an Appointment
Please note that we are currently offering virtual appointments by either phone or video chat (via Microsoft Teams) as a result of the campus disruptions caused by the coronavirus. Access to our main phone line and voicemail are limited. If you need assistance, please contact us by email at CareerServices@usf.edu.
There are two ways that you can schedule an appointment to meet with a Career Consultant.
You can schedule an appointment online through Handshake. Login to Handshake through MyUSF by clicking "Find a Job (Handshake)" under the My Resources tab. Most students should be automatically logged in.*
Once logged in, navigate to the Career Center tab at the top of the page and click "Appointments." Handshake will then walk you through the steps of scheduling your appointment. In addition to scheduling appointments, Handshake also allows you to see previous and upcoming appointments, and cancel current appointments if needed.
Please note that if this is your first time logging in, you may be asked to complete Handshake's Career Interest Inventory before you see the Career Center option at the top. While you can skip this step, we recommend that you take some time to complete the inventory as Handshake will use this information to surface relevant jobs and internships for you. You can update your interests at any time.
If you experience issues logging in, please submit this quick account creation form, regardless of which campus you attend. Do NOT attempt to create your own account as it will not be fully connected to USF and you will not be able to see positions, events, or appointments.
If you need assistance with scheduling your appointment, you can call our office at 813-974-2171 and we will assist you with the scheduling process. Please make sure to have your class, work, or other necessary schedules in front of you in order to streamline this process.

Have questions about the internship or Co-op process? Need help weighing your options or getting enrolled in the IDS 3947/6940 internship course or IDS 3949/4949 Co-op Course? Do you need more information about CPT requirements? Diane is offering virtual drop-ins to help you with these internship and Co-op questions!
Please note that if you are looking to conduct a job search to find an internship or Co-op you should be working with your Career Consultant. (Please see the information above on how to schedule a virual appointment with your Consultant.)
Students will be helped on a first-come, first-served basis during her drop-in hours. Drop-ins are available in Microsoft Teams at the following scheduled times:
- Tuesdays: 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
- Wednesdays: 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Thursdays: 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
