Dr. Liz Perkins Honored as EP Magazine Advocate Hero
Congratulations to CFS Research Associate Professor and FCIC Associate Director Dr. Liz Perkins who is listed among 50 Advocate Heroes being showcased for their extraordinary work
and achievements as part of EP Magazine's 50th anniversary celebration.
Recognizing that advocates have provided the landmark events in the disability rights movement, EP Magazine Advocate Heroes were selected by EP Magazine, the EP Editorial Advisory Committee, and a group of peers in the disability field. They are being profiled through several issues of the magazine.
“Advocacy is the ultimate expression of my education and passion for social justice and health equity," said Dr. Perkins. "If anything I have said, done, written, or taught has improved the quality of life for people with IDD and their caregivers, or helped the professionals that support them to do their job better, then that makes me happy. As a professional with a disability in the disability field - it is simply my duty to amplify the needs and the voices of all people with disabilities while demanding the respect we all deserve.”
EP Magazine, formerly called Exceptional Parent Magazine, provides practical advice, emotional support, and the most up-to-date educational information for families of children and adults with disabilities and special healthcare needs.
