POSITION SUMMARY:

The University of South Florida School of Social Work invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position for the Sarasota-Manatee campus. We encourage applicants who are interested in joining our School of Social Work scholarly faculty in educating social work professionals and contributing to priority areas of research emphasizing the following: child welfare, health, mental health, substance abuse, children and families, aging, homelessness, corrections, and cultural diversity as it relates to all of these areas.

 

As part of the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences, members of our faculty engage in innovative behavioral, interdisciplinary, translational, and implementation research focused on finding solutions that lead to improvements in the quality of life, health and safety of diverse populations and communities. Since the position is dedicated to the re-initiation of the BSW (Bachelor’s of Social Work) program on the Sarasota-Manatee campus, the primary responsibilities of this position are teaching and mentoring of undergraduate students. However, responsibilities also include instruction of Masters and doctoral level courses in Social Work, supporting doctoral students’ research and dissertation studies, as well as engaging in research, grantsmanship, and service. POSITION QUALIFICATION

Minimum Qualifications:

1. MSW from a CSWE accredited School of Social Work or equivalent

2. DSW or PHD in Social Work or related field or expected completion of DSW or PhD in Social Work degree or related field by start date.

3. A demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, research, and service.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Strong identification with core values of social work

2. 2 Years post-graduate experience

3. Experience in teaching courses in BSW & MSW program

4. Knowledge of BSW curriculum strongly preferred

5. Current external research funding

6. Knowledge of CSWE competencies

Instructor/Field Coordinator, Social Work, Apply to job ID 26315

POSITION SUMMARY:

The University of South Florida, School of Social Work invites applications for the position of Instructor/Field Coordinator. The person hired for this position will be responsible for recruitment of new community partners, strengthening relationships with current community partners, and supporting student field placement in collaboration with our School’s Director of Field Education. This position also includes providing instruction in the USF Sarasota-Manatee BSW and MSW programs and contributing to the service needs in the School, including the admissions process, advising students, and related duties. This is a 12-month continual appointment, subject to annual evaluations. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. It is preferred that a candidate for this position reside in the Tampa Bay area. 2. Four years full-time (or the equivalent of part-time) post-graduate social work clinical practice experience

3. Experience in teaching clinical courses

4. Licensed or immediately license-eligible in the State of Florida

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Strong identification with core values of social work.

2. Administrative experience in social work education and/or leadership in a human service agency.

3. Supervisory experience with students or staff.

4. Local or regional knowledge and experience with community agencies.

5. Experience in creating and developing community partnerships.

6. Evaluation experience consistent with CSWE accreditation standards.

7. DSW or PHD in Social Work or related field or expected completion of DSW or PhD in Social Work degree or related field by start date.
