The U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship is a grant program that provides college students who are Pell Grant recipients with up to $5,000 to study or intern abroad.

Recipients of the scholarship have the opportunity to gain a better understanding of other cultures, countries, languages, and economies — making them better prepared to assume leadership roles within government and the private sector. To apply, you must be a U.S. citizen, Pell Grant recipient, and be attending an education abroad program that is three weeks or longer.
