Master of Arts
Specialization Areas
In addition to completing the common core, each student will select a specialization area. The specialization areas, with the exception of the Exceptional Student Education specialization, consist of one advanced theories course and two electives. The Exceptional Student Education concentration consists of all three advanced theories courses and offers an opportunity to develop in-depth knowledge across a range of exceptionalities. The electives in the other specializations allow students to take coursework that could lead to an endorsement. These endorsement areas include:
- Autism
- Severe & Profound
- Gifted Education
- Reading
Electives can also be selected in areas of related interest, such as instructional technology, applied behavior analysis, mental health, content areas (science, math, social science, English and reading) and teacher leadership.
