Graduate Curriculum Process
Routing for All Actions
The Curriculog Proposal Management System is used for routing curricular actions through the approval process. For questions, contact Carol Hines-Cobb (curriculum/courses) or Joseph Butts (courses).
Routing varies by college process and requested action. However, the basic process and routing steps are listed below:
- Faculty submits the proposal through Curriculog to the Office of Graduate Studies (OGS).
- Faculty must "Save" and then "Validate and Launch" the Proposal in Curriculog to save it to the system. Faculty must then "Approve" it on the decisions tab to move it forward for processing. More information is provided on the forms in Curriculog.
- OGS reviews/clears proposal then returns to faculty to continue approval process.
- Faculty secures department/committee approvals and uploads documentation of the approvals to Curriculog and then submits for college approval.
- College/Committee/Dean reviews, completes internal college approval processes, uploads documentation of these approvals, and submits to OGS.
- OGS reviews and prepares for Graduate Council. This review includes the Office of Academic Planning and Operational Reporting (APOR), which reviews for assessment and SACSCOC notification requirements. Once cleared by both OGS and APOR, the proposal is listed on the agenda posted on the Graduate Council Curriculum Committee website.
- Graduate Council reviews and approves in Curriculog, and then submits to OGS for final processing.
- OGS Dean/Designee approves and notifies other relevant offices of action/update.
- Approved changes are in effect with the next published Graduate Catalog. Proposal is marked as completed.
