Thank you for your interest in joining the Judy Genshaft Honors College (JGHC)!
Our Upper-Level Admission process is designed for students who are currently attending college, whether at the University of South Florida (USF) or another college or university. Students who are still in high school, including those taking dual enrollment courses, should refer to our First-Time-In-College (FTIC) admissions process.

Application information and deadlines for Fall 2022 admission to the Judy Genshaft Honors College will be available on February 15.

"Continuing Students", for the purposes of this application process, are those who started college at USF and are looking to join the JGHC in addition to their current major. Continuing Students must have completed one or more semesters at USF before applying to join the JGHC. It is strongly recommended that continuing students apply to the JGHC after their first or second completed semester in order to maximize their time in Honors. Students closer to completing their bachelor’s degree may not be accepted if there is not enough time to complete all JGHC requirements prior to graduation.

"Transfer Students" are those who began college at an institution other than USF. Whether you have been at USF for a semester or more, or if you are actively in the process of applying to join USF, you should complete the Transfer Student Application. Students who completed dual enrollment while in high school and then applied to USF are not considered Transfer Students.

Admission into the Judy Genshaft Honors College is competitive. Students are required to have at least a 3.5 GPA at the time of application. More importantly, though, applicants should have a working knowledge of the Judy Genshaft Honors College Curriculum (see more below) and how these experiences will contribute to their personal and professional development. We feel strongly that the JGHC is not simply a line item on a resume or a club for talented students, but rather a place where people can actively pursue their academic and professional goals in a community of similarly driven individuals.

Restrictions: Students will not be admitted into the JGHC if the additional academic courses will cause students to accrue any Excess Credit Hours or graduate in a manner inconsistent with USF’s Degree Progression Policy (beyond 4 years from the start of one’s bachelor’s degree, or two years after completion of an associate degree). It is highly recommended that students have at least two academic years remaining at USF to complete the Judy Genshaft Honors College Curriculum, and the application review process will favor students with more time until graduation.

Curriculum requirements are the same for both Continuing and Transfer students. These conditions must be met at time of graduation in order to graduate with Judy Genshaft Honors College Distinction. For more detailed information about these requirements, please visit CANVAS.

*Volunteer Hours and Global Experiences completed by students after graduating high school but before joining the JGHC will be accepted, though some exceptions may apply. Speak with your honors advisor, once assigned, to review any experiences you would like to apply towards these requirements.

Prospective students will only be considered for admission into the JGHC branch associated with the student’s “home campus." If you are interested in applying, please use the application links below associated with the appropriate campus and with regard to your status as either a Continuing or Transfer Student as described above.
