Thank you for your interest in joining the Judy Genshaft Honors College (JGHC)!
Our Upper-Level Admission process is designed for students who are currently attending college, whether at the University of South Florida (USF) or another college or university. Students who are still in high school, including those taking dual enrollment courses, should refer to our First-Time-In-College (FTIC) admissions process.

APPLY HERE for Fall 2022 admission into the Judy Genshaft Honors College.
The deadline to apply is July 1. All applications will be reviewed after the deadline and decisions will be shared with applicants no later than August 1.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Admission into the Judy Genshaft Honors College is competitive. Students are required to have at least a 3.5 GPA at the time of application. More importantly, applicants should have a working knowledge of the Judy Genshaft Honors College Curriculum (see more below) and how these experiences will contribute to their personal and professional development. We feel strongly that the JGHC is more than just a line item on a resume or a club for talented students, but rather a place where people can actively pursue their academic and professional goals in a community of similarly driven individuals.  When reviewing applications, we look for students who can clearly and specifically identify how being a member of the JGHC community and having access to its opportunities will contribute towards their short- and long-term goals.

Restrictions:

Current USF Students will only be admitted to the JGHC at the start of their second year in the Fall semester, regardless of the number of credits earned through advanced mechanisms (DE, AP, IB, etc.). Due to demand and a desire to maximize the opportunities for those admitted, we will not consider applications for current USF students in their second year or later.

Transfer Students will only be admitted to the JGHC at the time of transfer and must have at least two academic years (4 Fall/Spring Semesters) remaining before graduation.  The JGHC application must be completed by the deadline listed on this website prior to the transfer student’s first USF semester.

Students will not be admitted into the JGHC if the additional academic courses will cause students to accrue any Excess Credit Hours or graduate in a manner inconsistent with USF’s Degree Progression Policy (beyond 4 years from the start of one’s bachelor’s degree, or two years after completion of an associate’s degree).

JUDY GENSHAFT HONORS COLLEGE CURRICULUM

These conditions must be met at time of graduation in order to graduate with Judy Genshaft Honors College Distinction. To account for lost time, JGHC Upper Level admits will take two less Honors Seminar courses than those students admitted in their first semester of college. For more detailed information about these requirements, please visit CANVAS.
