Leadership Enrichment

PROGRAM OVERVIEW


Leadership Enrichment is an interactive, cohort-based program that provides USF mid-level leaders with the opportunity to examine themselves as leaders and to expand their self-awareness of effective leadership skills, styles, and behaviors. The sessions are designed to increase executive presence, emotional intelligence, and the ability to resolve workplace conflict. Participants learn to develop a more focused mindset, build cohesive teams, and be more dynamic in their engagement with others.

The program includes

  • Leadership expert led curriculum
  • A hybrid of In-Person and Virtual sessions over a 2-month period that consist of (8) 2-hour sessions (1per week)
  • CliftonStrengths assessment
  • Activities designed to implement learning into real life in-between sessions
  • Large and small group discussions
  • Individual coaching sessions
  • Internal networking opportunities

The Summer 2024 program cohort will start May 1, 2024.

The deadline to submit is end of day, Friday, April 19, 2024.

Program Requirements

To be eligible for the program, candidates must be mid-level leaders on a regular position at the University of South Florida. Temporary employees are not eligible to participate. Applicants must submit a completed application which includes their supervisor’s approval. If selected, participants must commit to eight, two-hour instructor-led sessions with activities/assignments to be completed in-between sessions.

IMPORTANT NOTE

There is a minimum seat requirement of 20 participants. If the minimum seat requirement is not met, the training will be rescheduled to the next season of delivery. 

The ideal candidate should

  • Be motivated to grow and develop as a leader
  • Possess interest in learning more about themself as a person and leader
  • Be open to feedback and coaching

Participant Selection Process

Mid-level leaders interested in the program must complete the online application and secure their supervisor’s approval. A committee reviews all of the applications and selects the participants. Applicants are then notified of their selection status via email.

Attendance

In order for the individual and the cohort to fully benefit from this developmental program, attendance at all sessions is expected. Absences may be excused at the instructor’s discretion. Excessive absences could disqualify the participant from completing the program.

The program is facilitated via a hybrid format. Sessions are either in-person on the Tampa campus or virtual through MS Teams.

Program Costs

There is an $800 program fee payable by the participant's college/department via chartfield.
