Instructional Technology: Distance Education


This certificate is designed to provide both school educators and corporate trainers the knowledge and skills needed to create effective educational courses and programs intended for distant delivery. All courses required for this certificate may be completed either at USF or at a distance through the Internet. In some instances, print and multimedia materials are used to augment the Web-based courses.

Course Location/Delivery

This graduate certificate curriculum is fully online.

Admission Requirements

A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

  • EME 6936 - Technology Project Management (3) OR
  • EME 7631 - Research in Technology Project Management (3)

Outcome Project Documentation

Consult the department website regarding how to document your outcome project which is completed within specific courses in the certificate program.

Credit toward Graduate Degree

Up to 12 hours of certificate course credits may be applied to a graduate degree with departmental approval.

Standardized Tests

International students must submit a TOEFL score when English is not the native language. A minimum score of 550 on the paper-based test or 79 on the web-based test is required.
