World Ranking Agency Puts USF in the Top 50 of Public Institutions in the U.S.

The University of South Florida (USF) once again makes headlines according to the recently released Round University Ranking (RUR), an international ranking of leading world universities.

USF Ranks top 300 worldwide among all universities, top 50 among U.S. public universities, 2nd in the state of Florida, according to the Round University Ranking.

USF ranks in the top 300 worldwide, in the top 50 among US public university, and second in the state of Florida. The RUR provides a comparison of 930 leading universities from 80 countries around the world spanning 8 years (2010-2017) and evaluates in areas of teaching, research, international diversity, and financial sustainability.

As a global research university dedicated to student success, the RUR ranking further affirms USF’s commitment to providing innovative learning and research opportunities for a diverse student body representing over 145 countries. Serving as a national model for student success, USF is also home to a world-class faculty recognized with over 100 highly prestigious awards. USF also ranks #5 in the nation as the top producer of Fulbright Scholars with 8 faculty scholar according to The Chronicle of Higher Education (2018).

Recently named a Preeminent Research university, one of only three in the State of Florida, USF’s ground-breaking and impactful research is highlighted by the RUR recognition. With $568 million in total research expenditures, USF ranks 25th among public universities for research spending. This long-standing commitment to research has led to USF being ranked 12th worldwide, 5th in the nation and 1st in Florida among public universities for granted U.S. patents according to the Intellectual Property Owner Association.

The RUR comes on the heels of USF Tampa recognition as one of the top 100 Best Values in Public Colleges according to the 2018 Kiplinger’s Personal Finance, as well USF being announced the winner of the 2019 Institute of International Education Andrew Heiskell for Innovation in International Education, in the category of access and equity. In recent years, USF has also received national recognition for eliminating the achievement gap by race, ethnicity and socioeconomic, an impressive achievement in higher education.
