2017 Fulbright US Student Program

Natalie Kass, originally from West Palm Beach, FL, is a proud recipient of the 2017 Fulbright English teaching assistantship to Macau, China. As a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant, she works with a variety of classes a guest lecturer.

Macau Polytechnic Institute, the school where she instructs, arranges teaching schedules so each instructor has classes to work with throughout the semester. When she's not in the classroom, Natalie collaborates with her fellow ETAs to host school-wide events, like English lunches or other cultural events for students to practice their English.

During the application process, she worked closely with ONS. "ONS supplied me with an intense framework for completing my application on time," she says. "Specifically, Lauren Chambers helped guide me every step of the way, reading over my drafts and sending them out to USF Fulbright alumni. Without her help, I would not be in Macau."

Natalie attributes her success to her personal drive to discover her identity. "Because I am half Chinese and half white, my life's journey consists of figuring out my place in the world and how I can help others to do the same. Thus, I became an English teacher in Macau," she says.

In the future, Natalie plans to apply for a position at INTO USF. Ultimately, she would like to continue increasing her teaching experience so she can open her own school.

Congratulations to Natalie on winning the Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to Macau!
