2017 DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) - RISE Internship

Teresa Kee, originally from Tampa, FL, is a proud recipient of the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) - RISE Internship. This award has afforded her the opportunity to research extracellular vesicles using C. elegans embryos in Würzburg, Germany. She lived in Berlin for 2 weeks for a German language course and traveled extensively during and after the internship.

Teresa worked with ONS to determine the best opportunities for her goals. "I learned about the program through ONS, and they helped me decide which programs I should apply to," she says.

She attributes her success to her many mentors at USF in the departments of Molecular Medicine, Molecular Pharmacology & Physiology, and the Honors College.

Teresa feels this award has helped her academic career by allowing her to obtain new laboratory and professional skills, and experience of living in a new country.

In the future, she plans to earn a PhD in Neuroscience and become a professor or work in her field.

Congratulations to Teresa on winning the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) - RISE Internship!
