Check out the some of these sustainable opportunities for online volunteering:

Committee on Sustainability Assessment

COSA began with a handful of volunteers committed to finding globally comparable metrics for understanding sustainability in agriculture. Today, as a nonprofit organization operating at the forefront of sustainability, COSA thrives on the gift of skilled volunteers to work together with us in creating a better world.

UN Volunteers (Online)

UNV champions environments in which volunteerism can flourish. It pushes for the ability and right of people to participate in their own development.

The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme has evolved greatly over the past 42 years in terms of the size and spread of its mandate, results and activities, driven by the changing external environment for peace, development and the eradication of poverty, by the wider acknowledgment of the role of volunteerism globally and by intergovernmental legislation.

Citizens' Climate Lobby

Citizen's Climate Lobby

CCL's mission is to create the political will for a sustainable climate and to empower individuals to have breakthroughs in exercising their personal and political power. CCL is a national nonpartisan non-profit with educational programs and lobbying activities (designations of 501 (c-3) and 501 (c-4)). This intern position's purpose is to support the expansion of CCL and support of our volunteers in the field.

International Student Volunteers

ISV's projects are internationally recognized and awarded as we have a commitment to sustainability, positive change, and providing extraordinary volunteer experiences. Here is your chance to make a difference in the fields on conservation and community development.

The Nature Conservancy

As the leading conservation organization, our work is around the clock and around the world. We protect ecologically important lands and waters for nature and people in all 50 United States, and in more than 30 countries. We can't achieve our large-scale conservation victories without the support and involvement of those who share our passion for preserving our last great places.

WaterAid (Global Volunteer Opportunity)

To achieve WaterAid's vision we rely on the energy and talents of many people who give their time for free. You can contribute to our work in many ways including raising funds, organizing or speaking at events and providing support in WaterAid offices.

Water For People (Global Volunteer Opportunity)

Water for People

Water For People depends on volunteers to fulfill much of its mission. Volunteers raise funds and spread the word about the desperate need for safe drinking water and improved sanitation in the developing world. You can provide valuable assistance with community outreach, program assistance, and special event coordination. Volunteers have many opportunities for learning and gaining experience.
