Dr. Brooke Hansen Appointed to Super Bowl LV Committee & Officially Named Affiliate Faculty in the USF Department of Women’s and Gender Studies
Dr. Brooke Hansen, Sustainable Tourism Concentration Director
Dr. Brooke Hansen was recently invited to join the Tampa Bay Super Bowl LV Host Committee's Sustainability Sub-Committee. The Host Committee has joined forces with NFL Green and many other sustainability partners in an effort to amplify greening efforts with the Community Greening Program, one of the many environmental initiatives that will take place alongside Super Bowl LV to be held in Tampa.
We also congratulate Dr. Hansen for being named an affiliate faculty of the Women's and Gender Studies Department in the College of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Hansen is the PCGS Director of Sustainable Tourism and we are pleased to see her become a part of the WGS Department. Gender equality is one of the U.N.'s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG #5) and is featured in Dr. Hansen's SDG class.
To top off her well-deserved appointments, Dr. Hansen was also named a 2020 South Atlantic Women to Watch by the national USGBC group. The campaign seeks to celebrate women who make a difference in the communities in which they reside. This recognition is for her work within the Sheroes, Stand UP: Women in Green Campaign. Dr. Hansen will be recognized in an article that will be published on the USGBC website in November….so stay tuned!
We are pleased to have such an esteemed faculty member as part of our college. Congratulations Dr. Hansen on all you've accomplished!
