SPRING BREAK ABROAD: Puerto Rico Service Trip

San Juan, Puerto Rico
March 10-16

This year, we're headed down to Puerto Rico to help rebuild after hurricanes Maria and Irma devastated the island. We'll be headed to El Yunque, the only tropical National Rainforest in the National Forest Service system. We'll be helping rebuild/clear trails for visitors to enjoy and clearing out their primitive campsites so that families can once again enjoy camping with the enchanting sound of Coqui everywhere! We'll also head to Hacienda Tres Angeles to work with our community partner there on a local organic coffee farm to help replant and recover from the effects of the hurricane. We'll be a self contained unit, primitive camping in El Yunque and on the coffee farm ourselves with very few amenities even accessible. If you love nature, connecting people to the outdoors, and want a way to help out Puerto Rico, this is the trip for you!

All meals, transportation in-country, and accommodations are included. Participants are only required to purchase their flights to and from Puerto Rico during the program dates.

Cost for USF Students (flights included): $600

Adventure Abroad: Sailing in the Bahamas

Marsh Harbour, Bahamas
June 19-24

Join us on our newest Adventure Abroad! Setting off from Marsh Harbour, we will spend the week sailing and exploring the string of island cays that make up the Abaco Islands. Don’t worry, no experience is necessary – the captains will show you everything you need to know. The Great Abaco barrier reef lies just off the coast of the islands, some parts easily reached from the beach. The brilliant-blue Sea of Abaco lies between the islands and offers miles of sailing and island exploring. Each day we sail to one of the islands to explore its sandy beaches, snorkel the coral reefs and visit local settlements. Some potential stops include snorkeling at the Fowl Cay Reef national preserve, climbing the historic Hope Town Lighthouse (built in 1862) for the unbeatable view, and visiting the traditional boat-building settlement of Man-O-War Cay. We will spend each night at anchor and be back in port on the final night for departures the following morning.

All meals, transportation in-country, and accommodations are included. Participants are only required to purchase their flights to and from Marsh Harbour, Bahamas during the program dates.

Cost for USF Students (flights not included): $1,500
