Amaliya Bereznyuk
Thanks for checking out my bio. I'm glad you are considering the Counseling Center services!

My name is Amaliya Bereznyuk and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor here at the Counseling Center. Being a part of LGBTQ+ community and an immigrant from Ukraine, I am dedicated to working with people from all walks of life. I work with students from an integrative model - empowerment, strength-based, feminist approach, where we figure out what your path to wellness looks like. Fun fact: in addition to my Master's degree in mental health counseling, I am a Florida Certified Sex Therapist.

Clinical Interests: My areas of interest in counseling include sex related concerns, identity development, anxiety, self-harming behaviors, substance abuse, relationship issues, trauma, and family conflict.

Approach to Supervision/Training: My approach to supervision/training is Bernard and Goodyear's discrimination model.

Languages: I am fluent in English, conversational in Russian

Affiliation/Roles: I serve as a representative of the counseling center to the USF Committee on Issues of Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (CISOGI). Within the center, I am co-chair of the Brightside Crew, a committee focused on staff recognition, team building and morale.
