Hello and Welcome!
My name is Jenny Dutil and I am a staff clinician at the Counseling Center. I am excited to be a part of the diverse team that makes up the counseling center here at USF! I am originally from Reno, NV but have had the privilege of living in and experiencing the many different cultures throughout the United States and Japan. I completed my Master’s program at Monmouth University in New Jersey. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring all the experiences the Tampa area has to offer as well as SCUBA diving.
When working with students I am passionate about holistically identifying areas that may be impeding your ability to succeed. I utilize different individualized approaches that best fit your need and will promote strategies in assisting developing your own coping skills. These approaches are carefully adapted to the needs, constraints, and resources that may be available to you. I aim to provide you with a space where you will feel safe, empowered and respected. My approach to therapy is an integrated approach of applying cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused and motivational interviewing techniques.
Clinical Interests: My interests in counseling include bereavement, adjustment issues, anxiety and depression.
Approach to Supervision/Training: Competency-Based Supervision Model.
