¡Hola y Bienvenidos!
(Hello and welcome)

Hi, I'm Dr. Darleen. I am a licensed clinical psychologist, which means I have training in assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental health issues that have created significant dysfunction and problems for everyday people like you. While I have the training and expertise to treat many different conditions, no two people are alike; you are the expert on you! My job is to listen to your story and help you figure out what the problematic things in your life are and help you come up with ways to problem solve and make change that will move you towards the goals that you want to achieve. Truthfully, therapy is hard work! So make sure that you are ready to put in the energy and effort it takes to make change in your life. I am 100% committed to helping you achieve the goals we set out to accomplish together and if we can't, then I will point you in the direction of those who can.

Clinical Interests: I enjoy working with individuals who identify as diverse across any spectrum. I have experience working with LGBTQ+ identified persons, racial and ethnic minorities, first generation students, students of non-traditional age, students with disabilities, and international students. I also enjoy helping students with adjustment to college, big life transitions, identity development, women's issues, immigration related difficulties, depression, anxiety, and grief/loss.

Languages: I am fluent in English and Spanish

Approach to Supervision/Training: Developmental, Interpersonal, Collaborative

Affiliations & Roles: Currently co-facilitating a group for trans, gender queer, gender non-binary, and otherwise gender diverse USF students; I also serve on the center's Research and Data Analysis Committee & Brightside Crew (responsible for staff team building)
