Hello and Welcome to the USF counseling center!
My name is Katrina Scarimbolo, and I am a graduate student clinician here at the counseling center. I received my B.A. in Psychology with minors in Creative Writing and Disaster Studies from the State University of New York at New Paltz, and my M.A. in School Psychology from the University of South Florida, where I am currently a student. I grew up in New York City which fostered my interest in museums and being a tourist in my own city. I enjoy exploring Tampa, going to the beach, reading, and baking/cooking. I’m looking forward to supporting you while on your unique college journey!
In therapy I work from a collaborative and strengths-based approach to support you in reaching your goals. College can be an exciting time but one that also presents students with various stressors. To help you learn how to cope with these stressors and maximize your well-being I utilize an integrative approach to therapy. I pull from cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness interventions while using a multicultural lens that is trauma informed. Together we will work on maximizing your wellness, learning new skills, and making connections between, thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. You have taken a major step for yourself by engaging in making a change in your mental health and empowerment!
