Hello All USF Students...and Go Bulls!
My name is Frank Ledda and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Certified Addictions Professional at the USF Counseling Center. I am originally from New York City and am second generation Italian. I have lived in Tampa since coming to USF for my own undergraduate and graduate education in 1984. I value a holistic approach to wellness and appreciate the importance of taking care of ourselves mind, body and soul while increasing our personal awareness. I enjoy reading and traveling to experience different cultures. I have spent the last 12 years participating in triathlons and I am the father of a daughter who is about to embark on her own college career.
I appreciate the major life transition that takes place and all of the hard work and
pressure involved in being a college student. I think it is an opportune time to seek
support and guidance to help navigate the stress associated with the life changes
and cope with demands of higher education and the adjustments needed in the ever-changing
technical world we live in today. I appreciate the opportunity to work with you in
order to sort through your current struggle, increase personal awareness and assist
you in developing your goals and outlining the steps to help you actualize them.
Theoretical approaches to therapy that I use and that resonate most with me are Person-Centered, Gestalt, Motivational Enhancement, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems and Acceptance Commitment Therapy. I recognize the utmost importance of the therapeutic relationship between counselor and client.
