Hello and Welcome!
My Name is Callie Nettles and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at the USF Counseling Center. I have lived all throughout the state of Florida, growing up in Gainesville, Florida and attending Florida State University for my undergraduate degree, but I happily landed in Tampa to attend graduate school at the University of South Florida (Go Bulls!) about 6 years ago. A little about me - When I'm not in my counselor role, I enjoy spending time outdoors, going to any yoga class I can find, and spending time with family, friends and my various fur-babies.
In coming to therapy, I know it takes a lot of courage to want to make changes to
our lives and to be willing to be vulnerable with another person. I believe in creating
a safe, confidential and supportive space for you to share your experiences, and I
am here to offer support, guidance and to walk with clients on their journey to become
the best versions of themselves. I approach each person I work with as an individual
with strengths and the potential to create the change they want to see in their own
life. I work to stay attuned to the diversity of each of my clients, and strive to
create an environment that is non-judgmental and non-coercive.
My theoretical approach is integrative, stemming from Person-Centered, Cognitive-Behavioral, Interpersonal and Experiential theories. When appropriate, I include action-based interventions in my work with clients. I believe that one size does not fit all and I tailor my therapeutic interventions for each client and their unique needs.
