Hi! My name is Dr. Patricia Russo, but you can call me Patty. I am a part-time, licensed psychologist at the Counseling Center. I enjoy working with college and graduate students and understand the unique challenges this stage of life presents. I recognize how hard it is to balance school, work, family, and friends… all while trying to practice self-care. As a result, I take on a solution-focused and interpersonal approach to therapy and place emphasis on creating a safe and understanding environment tailored to meet each individual. In session we will work collaboratively to strengthen resiliency, build positive relationships and open communication, and learn healthy coping skills to create balance and maintain a healthier and more fulfilling life.
I completed my undergraduate studies here at USF (Go Bulls!) and earned my master and doctorate degrees at Albizu University in Miami, Florida. From there, I stayed in South Florida and provided services in the community mental health and private practice settings working with culturally diverse populations and various presenting concerns. I recently relocated back to Tampa and am thrilled to be able to provide services to USF students. Outside of the office you can find me spending time at the beach, having game nights with family and friends, or attempting new Pinterest recipes.
