Greetings and welcome everyone!
My name is Dr. Mona Stribling, and I am a licensed Staff Psychologist at the Counseling Center. College is an exciting time of opportunity and growth and, on your journey, you may encounter challenging experiences navigating evolving academic and relationship demands. I look forward to working collaborative with you to evaluate your strengths and develop new coping skills.
A little bit more about me: I am originally from Florida and, although have thoroughly enjoyed my travels and varied places of residencies, I am excited to be "home" again - Go Bulls!. I enjoy culturally diverse cuisine, music and dance and aspire to be a ballroom dancer. I completed my doctorate at Our Lady of the Lake University in Texas, my internship at San Jose State University and my postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University. I discovered my passion for working with college students very early on in my academic/work career, and my experience with the diverse USF student population has only served to strengthen that passion. My approach to therapy is predominantly Solution-Focused Therapy - a strengths-based, goal-directed and systemic approach to working with clients. I also integrate cognitive-behavioral and interpersonal interventions. I would be honored to assist you in meeting your goals.
Clinical Interests: My professional interests include multiculturalism/cross-culturalism, adjustment, women's concerns, (dis)ability-related issues, relationships, anxiety and depression.
Languages: Fluent in English and Spanish, conversational German
Approach to Supervision/Training: Theory-related (Solution Focused/Integrative) supervision style
Affiliations & Roles: Member of the American Psychological Association, Texas Psychological Association, Committee on Diversity & Inclusion at the Counseling Center
