Goals
The professional development of graduate student clinicians is measured by meeting the center's goals regarding mental health competencies:
Goal 1: Professionalism
The Counseling Center seeks to develop mental health professionals who behave professionally and utilize supervision effectively.
Goal 2: Individual and Cultural Diversity
The Counseling Center seeks to develop mental health professionals who practice with skills based on knowledge and awareness of individual and cultural diversity.
Goal 3: Ethics and Law
The Counseling Center seeks to develop mental health professionals capable of applying ethical understanding and awareness of legal issues to professional activities.
Goal 4: Reflective Practices
The Counseling Center seeks to develop mental health professionals who are self-aware, reflect on their professional activities, and engage in self-care.
Goal 5: Clinical and Prevention Interventions
The Counseling Center seeks to develop mental health professionals that are knowledgeable and skilled in the provision of a variety of evidence based clinical and prevention interventions.
