Dean Jones Bio

Dean Winston G. Jones, Sr. started his career in student affairs/student success when he became a Resident Assistant at Arizona State University where he received a Bachelor of Music with a concentration in Voice Performance/Opera. After college Dean Jones went on to work at several universities and colleges in Residence Life, such as Rhode Island College, SUNY Purchase, Illinois State University, Texas A&M University, University of North Carolina at Charlotte, North Carolina Central University, and Colorado College. While at SUNY Purchase he pursued a Masters of Fine Art in Opera Studies and then received a Master of Science in Education from Illinois State University. Dean Jones then went on to become the Assistant Dean of Students at Lewis and Clark University in Portland where he was in charge of Housing, Residence Life, Student Conduct and Orientation and Parent and Family programs. After leaving Lewis and Clark in 2009, Dean Jones accepted a position here at University of South Florida (USF) as the Director of Student Rights and Responsibilities and was later promoted to Assistant Dean of Students. For the past five years he has served as the Associate Dean of Students responsible for following areas: the office of Multicultural Affairs, Center for Student Involvement and Fraternity and Sorority Life, Center for Leadership and Community Engagement and Office of New Student Connections and Parent and Family Programs.

Winston has one son Winston G. Jones, Jr. He enjoys traveling, music, photography and cinema and anime.
