Student Leader Spotlight

New Student Connections employs students with a strong sense of leadership, community, and purpose to act as student leaders. These students, from PALs to Network Leaders to CampU Counselors, focus on outreach and relationship building through programs, mentoring, and intentional conversations to provide a positive transition for all new students. To showcase the positive work done by these students for the USF community, NSC spotlights one student leader a month.

Student Leader Spotlight

Rid Bhuyian - PAL

Rid is in his second year at USF as an International Relations major. If happiness was the only factor in choosing a major, he would still pick International Relations because his heart is truly in it, however he may add on photography to his college plan. His USF bucket list includes becoming a USF Ambassador which goes hand in hand with his academic life as an International Relations major. If he were to meet President Genshaft, he would tell her how awesome NSC is because he loves the office that he works in. In fact, his favorite USF tradition is Week of Welcome, particularly the Kickoff Balloon Drop. He had an awesome experience as a first year student, and he would not change a thing about it! In fact, his favorite memory is his whole first year – making new friends in his residence hall and having tons of fun with them. If he could give advice to himself as a first year, he would say "Don't forget the end goal, stay focused."
