Remembering the Ocoee Election Day Massacre and Re-Learning US History

University of Florida Historian, Paul Ortiz, will be the guest speaker for the 3rd
event in the "Recovering Erased History" series hosted by the USF Humanities Institute. Ortiz will speak on the Ocoee Election Day Massacre of 1920. This online event is

Stampede of Service: Kickoff

Stampede of Service (SOS) is a 3-part event series presented by the USF Center for
Leadership and Civic Engagement (CLCE) featuring a full month of service opportunities
focused on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). SOS engages students in meaningful
service experiences that move them along the Active Citizen Continuum. In the process,
students will connect with each other around common causes while also learning how

Creating with St. Pete Network

Join us with the Arts & Entertainment Network as we follow a step-by-step guide to
painting must see places in St. Pete! After the video, the Connect St. Pete Network
will be drawing places that give back to our community and benefit us as students.
Creating a Better Tomorrow: Prioritizing the Global Strategy

The Maternal & Child Health Student Organization (MCHSO) symposium aims to bring USF
and community members together to discuss issues that impact women and children. The
event highlights challenges faced by women and children and the effect of globalization
on health. Topical areas include maternal mortality, infectious diseases and pregnancy,
adverse sexual/reproductive health outcomes in worldwide settings, and more! Register for the event.
Values Celebration Week
The Center for Student Involvement on the Tampa campus is hosting its annual Values
Celebration Week from March 1-5, 2021. We will have interactive social media events
on @USFGreeks Instagram and a collaboration with @USF_CAB for Patio Tuesday. Join us on Wednesday for our
keynote speaker, Victoria Alexander from CAMPUSPEAK, to discuss values-based organizations.
All events will be held over a virtual platform, and links can be found on the @USFGreeks
Instagram page.

Nominate for Student Employee & Student Employee Supervisor of the Year Awards by
Friday, March 5!
National Student Employee Week is March 28 - April 3 and USF will be honoring our
student employees for their work with special recognition for the Student Employee of the Year and Student Employee Supervisor of the Year. Do you know someone who should get one of these awards? Nominate exemplary student employees and their supervisors from all three USF campuses
today! Nominations be accepted until 5 pm ET on Friday, March 5.
Golden Bull Award Application Closes on Monday, March 8!
Presented by the Student Success unit, The Golden Bull Award is one of USF's highest
honors given annually in the spring semester to deserving undergraduate and graduate
students who encompass the spirit of USF and have demonstrated its values. Recipients
must exemplify exceptional leadership and service to the University and the community.
Applications are open to students on all three campuses!
