USF Concert Band

The public is cordially invited to the inaugural concert of USF’s newest year-round band. The Concert Band’s first performance of the year is on Tuesday, November 12 at 7:30pm. The band is conducted by Assistant Director of Bands, Lauren Gates, with assistance by outstanding undergraduate Music Education major, Travis Medina. Repertoire for the evening includes: Illumination – Maslanka Lightning Field – Macky Rhythm Stand – Higdon A Tribute to Grainger – Grainger/Ragsdale Sun Dance – Ticheli. 


USF Jazztet

The USF Jazztet is the top small group in the internationally acclaimed USF Jazz Studies program. The group conducted a concert tour of France this past summer, playing in Paris, at the renowned Jazz A’ Vienne Festival and for the Women’s World Cup in Le Havre. The Jazztet will perform a concert of exciting jazz music, composed by some of the best know names in jazz – Tadd Dameron, Joe Henderson, Clifford Brown, Duke Jordan, and more! 


Art Thursday: Spoken Word with Heard ‘Em Say

USF Rutenberg Chamber Series: Trio Nobile

Winner of the Brancaleoni International Music Festival’s Rutenberg Award, this international piano trio performs works by Beethoven, Brahms, and Florida-based, Pulitzer Prize and Academy Award-winning composer Ellen Taaffe Zwilich.


USF Wind Ensemble: Takin' It To Church

The public is cordially invited to attend the USF Wind Ensemble’s second concert of the semester on Sunday, November 17 at 2:00 pm. The program, entitled “Takin’ It To Church” features piece that explores many of the styles of music that have been used in times of worship, mourning, and celebration throughout the centuries.

USF BFA Thesis Exhibition: Breathing Space

USF Monday Night Jazz Series: Marshall Gilkes, Trombone/Composer

New York trombonist/composer Marshall Gilkes, widely acknowledged for his virtuosic technique and passionate emotion, will be joined by the acclaimed USF Jazz Ensemble (conducted by Chuck Owen) in a continuation of this year’s “Monday Night Jazz Series”.
