  2. Identify common challenges student face when trying to stick to a budget
  3. Understand the difference between scholarships and grants
  4. Identify various strategies they can use to be a responsible borrower

Workshop Title: A New Facet of Identity to Explore: Understanding Your Approach to Learning

Learning Outcomes

  1. Students will gain awareness of their many academic identities.
  2. Students will identify their learning style.
  3. Students will gain awareness on how their learning preferences affect their academic success.
  4. Students will learn about important campus resources that can compliment their learning style such as Academic Advocacy.

Workshop Title: Between the World and Men: Race, Masculinity, and Affective Capital

Learning Outcomes

  1. Students will learn to recognize dominant racial and gender stereotypes and articulate why these stereotypes are problematic.
  2. Students will be able to identify issues that men of color uniquely face and develop a strategy for working together to address these issues at the individual and institutional level.
  3. Students will understand the importance that racial & ethnic identity of men play in people's lives and learn to respond to them at various levels.

  1. Students will be aware of resources provided by Alumni Association
  2. Students will have a better understanding of the Alumni Association and why it supports students and the university as a whole
  3. Students will know how they can foster relationships with alumni before graduation that can help in their leadership development as a student and alumni
  4. Student will gain some knowledge of the importance of making connections as students with alumni that can help them in their future careers
