C.W. Bill Young Hall
Joint Military Leadership Center
University of South Florida

C. W. Bill Young Hall is unique to the University of South Florida, the State and the Nation. It is home to our nation's first of its kind Joint Military Leadership Center (JMLC) and to our university's Army, Naval and Air Force ROTC programs. It is the university's most technologically advanced educational facility with classrooms that reach out beyond the walls using video conferencing, distance learning and web-casting.

USF is one of only 38 universities/colleges nationwide to have all service ROTC programs. The JMLC hosts all three programs in four stories and 53,000 square feet of state of the art training space. The building houses three lecture halls; five classrooms; a weapons simulation room; office and storage spaces for the Army, Naval and Air Force ROTC; a Joint Cadet/Midshipmen lounge, a computer lab and library; and public meeting spaces.

Additional features to C.W. Bill Young Hall include:

  • A brick pathway to "selfless service" which physically leads from the street to the building's main entrance and symbolically leads to what the ROTC program instills in the hearts and minds of the student
  • Flag poles for the display of the U.S./State of Florida flags and the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard flags
  • Historic U.S. Flags Display in the First Floor Rotunda
  • A rappelling capable wall for required field training exercises
  • A 9/11 memorial display inside the building contains several artifacts from the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001
