Twenty-seven USF faculty members were recognized on Tuesday, September 17 with Outstanding Research Achievement Awards. The COPH's Judith Rijnhart was recognized for her distinguished contributions to the field of epidemiology and expertise in mediation analysis to investigate causal mechanisms that underlie exposure and intervention effects of cognitive health outcomes in older adults.

The college has received a major federal grant to educate and enroll Florida citizens for insurance under the Affordable Care Act, through the Health Insurance Marketplace and other qualified health plans such Medicaid and CHIP.

Faculty effort yields new equipment for local fire department

Dr. Christine McGuire-Wolfe was awarded a $100,000 grant from FEMA for the Port Richey Fire Department. The funds were used to purchase a new mobile command unit/air truck and breathing apparatus, enhancing the department's response capabilities.
