About the School

As of summer 2020 USF has consolidated all of its campuses. USF is now one university geographically located with campuses in Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Sarasota. 

The School of Interdisciplinary Global Studies (SIGS) provides knowledge on global studies that is interdisciplinary and diverse. SIGS brings together Political Science, Africana Studies, Latin American & Caribbean Studies, and International Studies to offer courses on politics, culture, history, and political economy. Some of our key areas of expertise include the transatlantic region, social movements, diasporic studies, human rights and genocide, citizenship and identity, and migration. Our students obtain jobs worldwide in various fields of government, non-profits, and the private sector.

SIGS offers three bachelor's degrees in Africana Studies, International Studies, and Political Science. We also offer three master's degrees in International Affairs, Latin American, Caribbean, and Latino Studies, and Liberal Arts with a Concentration in Africana Studies, and one doctoral degree in Politics & International Affairs. SIGS also offers graduate and undergraduate certificates. Each of these degrees provides students with a first-rate education on the subject matter and each degree imparts valuable critical thinking and communications skills. All of our degrees do an outstanding job giving students the tools they need to succeed in the job market or in post-graduate education. Our exceptional faculty provide interesting courses, conduct high-impact research, and serve the university, their professions, and the community at large.
