Mariya works as a Community Outreach Program Assistant at the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities at USF (CARD-USF) and is part of the administrative team assisting with special projects, public awareness events, fundraising and donor relation activities. Mariya is also involved in maintaining and updating the latest research information on a wide variety of topics for use by other CARD staff. Using her role at CARD, she actively seeks out opportunities to become an effective advocate for individuals with disabilities.

Mariya has an undergraduate degree in Dental Sciences with a focus on General Dentistry from India. She received her master’s degree in Public Health from USF with a concentration of Maternal and Child Health. During her graduate studies, she was the Research and Education Chair for the Maternal and Child Health Student Organization. Mariya’s volunteer role for the Association for Science in Autism Treatment broadened her interest to the field of individuals with autism and other disabilities.  Her professional expertise greatly expanded upon earning the Certified Health Education Credentialing Certification.
