Bachelor of Science
Students must complete a state-approved program to be eligible for teacher certification
in Elementary Education (Grades K-6). There are two degree plans to choose from which include coursework and extensive experiences in elementary school
settings to enable the integration of theory with teaching practice. A professional
portfolio that reflects students' demonstration of the Accomplished Practices (APs)
is a requirement for graduation.
Please note that degree and certification requirements are subject to change in accordance with state mandates. Students admitted to any USF Elementary Education program on the Tampa Campus need to take required courses on the Tampa Campus as they are designed to specifically meet our programs’ goals.
Our elementary certification programs develop students’ understanding of inquiry, inclusion, innovation and integrated instruction while preparing teachers for a diversity of learners.
