New Family Medicine Clinic Opens at USF Health to Provide Comprehensive Care

USF Health has launched a new family medicine clinic at the University Professional Center that is equipped with advanced health care services to serve the Tampa Bay area. The clinic is part of USF Health's efforts to make primary care more accessible to patients and includes a team of skilled doctors, including Patrick Murray, MD, assistant professor at the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine.

“I think the goal of family medicine is working with you as a person, not just as a patient … to make sure that you, the person, feel as healthy as you can and as best as you can," Dr. Murray said.

Services offered at the clinic cover a broad range of health care needs:

  • In-House Laboratory Services: Diagnostics, including infection testing and urine analysis.
  • Gynecologic Care: Comprehensive women's health services such as pelvic exams, Pap smear screenings, and IUD insertions.
  • Dermatological Services: Skin evaluations and necessary biopsies for lesions in a timely manner
  • Orthopedic Procedures: Joint injections and evaluations.

Dr. Murray, who recently joined USF Health, said that preventive medicine relies on building a good relationship with the patient. “When they have a doctor they see regularly, it's somebody that they can go to and always trust," he said.

The clinic's approach is to take a holistic view of health care, particularly when it comes to family medicine, which can involve everything from pediatric well visits to care for the elderly. "One of the other things that's really important is to see a community as a whole, especially all ages,” he said. “You can see people in all different aspects of their life and different stages of their life."

The USF Health Family Medicine Clinic, located at 3500 E. Fletcher Ave. in Tampa, is now accepting new patients, offering an approach to patient care that prioritizes personal well-being and long-term health. For more information or to book an appointment, please contact 813-821-8014.
