Dr. Noella West named nurse practitioner of the year

USF Health and Tampa General nurse practitioner and faculty member Noella West, DNP, APRN, AGNP-C, CNL, SCRN, ENLS, has been named 2023 Nurse Practitioner of the Year by the Florida Nurse Practitioner Network.

Dr. West is on faculty in the Department of Neurology in the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine and the USF Health College of Nursing, is a nurse practitioner for Vascular Neurology Comprehensive Stroke at Tampa General Hospital, and is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Dr. West, who is a triple-Bull, with three degrees from the USF Health College of Nursing, was presented with the award in August at the FNPN’s annual meeting for her significant efforts to improve awareness of nurse practitioner practice, strong advocacy for nurse practitioner practice, taking active leadership roles in nurse practitioner education, and active involvement in health care policy and legislation and community activism.
