USF Health physician named journal associate editor

Anjali J. Kaimal, MD, professor and vice chair of clinical operations in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine, has been named as the inaugural associate editor of obstetrics of the academic journal Obstetrics & Gynecology.

The journal is the official publication of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is known within the field as “The Green Journal.” It has been published since 1953.

Dr. Kaimal is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and maternal-fetal medicine. She joined USF Health in 2022 from the faculty of Harvard Medical School, where she was an associate professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Population Medicine. She also was chief of the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she also was director of the Deborah Kelly Center for Clinical Research in Obstetrics and Gynecology.  

Dr. Kaimal also conducts research funded by the National Institutes of Health that focuses on mode of delivery and interventions such as induction of labor, prenatal testing, and medication of maternal complications, as well as systems-level assessment of practice patterns and metrics that affect the obstetric population.
