USF SafetyFlorida recognized as Tampa declares occupational safety day

Tampa Mayor Jane Castor has designated April 28 as Occupational Safety and Health Day, aligning the city with the internationally recognized World Day for Safety and Health at Work. The designation also acknowledges the ongoing efforts of the USF SafetyFlorida Consultation Program.

J. Stephen Frost, assistant director of the OSHA Training Institute and Education Center at the USF College of Public Health, has been appointed to the National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health.

USF honors two COPH teams for outstanding excellence

Each year, the University of South Florida recognizes employees who demonstrate "above and beyond" performance excellence and uphold the core values of USF's Strategic Plan, “in pursuit of excellence,” with the Outstanding Staff Awards. This year, two teams from USF’s College of Public Health (COPH) were celebrated for their exceptional contributions to the university’s success--the Family Study Center (FSC) and the COPH Lifelong Learning Academy (LLA).
