Goswami Named to Tampa Mayor's Sustainability Team

USF College of Engineering faculty members Dr. Maya Trotz and Dr. Yogi Goswami have been named to City of Tampa Mayor Jane Castor's Sustainability & Resiliency Advisory Team.

The Sustainability and Resiliency Advisory Team will work to advise Mayor Castor and city administrators on the implementation of the Tampa Resilience Roadmap.

The team also will assist with development of the city’s first Climate Action & Equity Plan. The 19-member team is led by U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor, who chairs the U.S. House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis.

Dr. Trotz is a professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, where she works on a range of projects around water quality, sustainability and environmental equity. She also leads interdisciplinary teams in several projects focusing on resilience and addressing the damages of climate change in the Caribbean. She is the director of Strong Coasts, a collaborative National Science Foundation National Research Traineeship program with the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) to foster food, energy, and water solutions for coastal communities.

Dr. Goswami is the director of the CERC Clean Energy Research Center at USF and as a Distinguished University Professor is known as one of the world's leading innovators in the area of solar thermal energy, thermodynamics, heat transfer, HVAC, photovoltaics, and indoor air quality. He is the founder and inventor of the clean air technology Molekule.
